Joni Mitchell—Both Sides Now
What’s currently on repeat on my Spotify and in my (mind) closet.
The moody instrumentals of Both Sides Now call for more complex layers—but nothing too fancy. I want familiar pieces that wear like an old friend, and will stay tried-and-true through the years. A throw-it-over everything tomboy jacket (that, on closer look, is actually made of delicate linen). A slouchy tunic top that’s equally grand whether it's knotted, tucked or untucked. Ripped-up jeans that look like they’ve survived a few battles of the heart. And the kind of boots I’ll never take off.
