There's nothing quite as warming on a chilly fall evening as a spiced rum punch. (OK, maybe straight bourbon, but that's not as socially acceptable.) Stephanie Griber shares her twist on the traditional Ti Punch that she created especially for our Cultured skill supper on October 9. Featuring HEX Kombucha and a locally made rum, it's everything you could want to sip on while sitting fireside, mingling at a housewarming or, you know, making sauerkraut. Find the recipe below.
I'll Put a Hex on You (makes 1 drink)
Recipe courtesy of Stephanie Griber, of the bar program at Woodberry Kitchen
2 ounces HEX Honey Hibiscus Kombucha
1 ounce Stonewall Rum
1 ounce chai tea (chilled)
1/2 ounce simple syrup
2 milliliters Angostura bitters
Twist of orange
Pour the kombucha, rum and chai tea in a rocks glass. Add the simple syrup and bitters, then add ice. Use a metal stirrer to give everything a quick stir. Swiftly swipe the orange twist around the rim of the glass, twist over the drink to release orange essence and serve.
